Liv Clancy is a professional illustrator based in Atlanta, Georgia. Liv is an alumni at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Illustration. She has worked on many projects, bringing their whimsical and fun worlds to every avenue they can. Liv has also worked in several different areas of illustration, wanting to do and draw everything they can. These include concept design, surface design, background painting and gift cards.

When Liv isn’t sitting down and drawing, you can find them doing some kind of textile craft from sewing to felting. Liv is also a part of the Southeast Fibers Arts Alliance.

A vast imagination, a need to play, and the ability to create my own fairytales has influenced me throughout my artistic journey. When I create my art I often ask myself what’s the “soul” of it, which allows me to imbibe my art with a whimsical vibe that explores the self’s reaction to play and leisure. In short, I like making things that are fun!

Originally based in textile arts, I have always implored a keen sense of texture and pattern in my work. My illustration process is no different and I like to focus on strong line direction and pattern within the many scapes of my creations. I want my illustrations to have a tactile feel to them, which is why I pride myself on creating artwork with more than just a simple flat brush stroke.

My process is to be able to tell a story from a single glance, so I often look back to medieval artists that described their world to those who could not experience the world through tapestries and illuminated manuscripts. As such, there’s a lot of what I like to call “organic geometry” in my works. I like to focus on organic shapes and curves through steeping myself in natural research and reference for inspirations of my pieces.
